Job Description
We are looking for a strong hands-on data engineer, preferably with real-world AWS experience, to join the Broadridge Investor Communication Services (ICS) Development organization. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying data intensive applications to AWS. Opportunity to work with other developers and business stakeholders to understand requirements, and recommend the most appropriate technical design and approach based on the desired use case.

Responsibilities:
  • Proven enterprise level development of cloud data warehouses and business intelligence solutions with extensive ETL / ELT experience
  • Ability to analyze existing ETL processes in Informatica and Greenplum highly desirable
  • Design highly optimized ETL solution using AWS services like S3, Glue and Redshift
  • Collaborate with other members of the development team to design and develop code in AWS Glue using Python / PySpark and data transformations using RedShift procedures
  • Strong DB design and development skills including SQL performance tuning
  • Respond quickly to user feedback and continually refactor the code as the product evolves.
  • Focus on reliability, performance and adherence to best practices.
  • Ensure all elements of the code are fully tested.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with a focus on high performance/high availability
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Data Warehouse Design, Development, Optimization, and Performance Tuning required
  • 5+ experience with MPP and columnar databases required; RedShift experience is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with AWS Glue and Python or Pyspark highly desirable
  • Knowledge of NoSQL DBs and/or native AWS DB services is desirable
  • Knowledge of Linux, and AWS services like S3, Aurora, Lambda, API Gateway and ECS highly preferable
  • Experience with GIT or modern version control systems, combined with solid DevOps working knowledge
