This opportunity is for a two-year supervisory training program with Electric Boat for an Operations Supervisor position. This programs includes a mixture of instructor-led classroom training, leadership training, trade training, and on-the-job experience. The knowledge and skills that this program provides will prepare the selected candidate(s) to be successful Operations Supervisor(s) and leader(s) in our shipyard in Groton, CT., or our Quonset Point Manufacturing Facility in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The successful candidate must provide technical assistance and overall direction to a team of hourly representative employees. Core to this position is the successful performance of the teams Safety, Quality, Cost, schedule and Continuous Improvement. Effective communication, leadership, creating a positive team environment with employees and peers is key to success for the selected candidate. This position provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boats business. Roles and Responsibilities- Lead the activities of approximately 15 Trades employees in the performance of preparing, assembling and installing equipment onboard submarines- Primary point of contact to interface with Engineering, Ships' Management, Quality and other trade departments- Lead the team to achievement of company goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement- Take ownership of team performance- Assign work, provide technical expertise, instruction, mentorship , motivation and performance assessment of your Employee(s) while working aboard submarines under construction and repair- Lead self-assessment audits, commit to schedules and maintain product quality- Attend to various administrative responsibility, such as LMS, Quality documentation, work completion documentation, etc- Must be willing to work all shifts and travel, as required
