    **2nd Shift**

    Opening in Engineering Configuration Management (D322) , that is looking for a highly motivated self-starting individual that wants to be part of the Ship Certification Process for all New Construction Key Events through PSA and Post Delivery Availabilitys. The applicant will be responsible for Engineering Configuration Management: authorizing documents for construction; key event status reporting and certification; as built configuration documentation of each ship and the maintenance and data integrity of Electric Boats EB3G Document Control System and design document archive file, ELCADD.

    Education/ Experience


    Associates Degree or equivalent experience

    (Equivalent experience can be: A minimum of 2 years experience in one or more of the following areas: 1) Configuration Management of technical documents and data, 2) Ship certification, 3) Shipboard trade or 4) Related knowledge gained through Military enlistment.


  • Knowledge or experience with new construction and/or delivered ship configuration management
  • Knowledge or experience with configuration management principles
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience in performing at high quality level is desired
  • Understanding of EBs 3G, JCALS, and ELCADD systems
  • Ship Certification Process experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicant will be expected to support ship certifications during off hours and weekends when required
  • Applicant must be a self-motivator with a strong awareness of procedural compliance and data integrity
  • Skills

    This position involves:

  • Interpreting technical support documents and directives
  • Acting as liaison between the design agent and construction yard by resolving discrepancies
  • Ability to read and understand Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs)
  • Initiation and maintenance of Departure From Specification (DFS), Liaison Action Request (LAR) and Work Deferral Request (WDR) logs, for various ship certifications
  • Responsible for the creation and delivery of updates to the Ships Drawing Index (SDI)
  • Interaction with other functional organizations including Engineering, Test Engineering, Planning, Design, Program Office and Supervisor of Shipbuilding
  • Upkeep and understanding of applicable SPs, DIs and other governing procedures
