Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

PeopleSoft HCM Development team is responsible fordelivering new Payroll legislative requirements and providing maintenance ofexisting Payroll legislative requirements to customers as part of variousongoing releases along with supporting the existing customers and internalstakeholders on multiple releases of PeopleSoft HCM. This product managerposition will focus on supporting key PeopleSoft HCM Payroll legislative tax,reporting, and garnishment projects and initiatives and will become a keyresource to drive inbound activities.

Research the Payroll legislative entities to ensure that we aredelivering the most current and up-to-date Payroll legislative requirements forthe United States. Organizeinterdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product onschedule.

Detailed Description

As a member of the product development division, youwill define product specifications and or strategy for Payroll legislativerequirements. Gather, interpret and analyze government publications and othersources for Federal, state, and local Payroll legislation changes to defineproduct specifications and create design specifications. Communicate productstrategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with othergroups. Create and review product documentation and collateral. Ensuresuccessful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Job Responsibilities

Drive Product Management work forkey PeopleSoft HCM Payroll for North America legislative initiatives that meet Payrollregulatory requirements along with streamline administrative processes andcontinue to modernize UI design and ensure future compliance of theselegislative features:

  • Research and providehigh quality user stories that support the federal, state, and local businessobjective(s) of the Payroll for North America United States product by creatinguse cases, wireframes/prototypes, and functional requirements including but notlimited to taxes, reporting, and garnishments.

  • Manage documentationof the legislative requirements for multiple project deliverablessimultaneously.

  • Partner with productstrategy to present the functional vision of the product to key customer orpartners in various forums (conferences, focus groups, customer meetings)

  • Support the development team and other extendedteams in resolving the customer reported legislative issues. Able tohandle incidents escalated by customers on a priority basis.

  • Ability to multi-task on various assignmentsincluding new legislative features, research of legislative changes, customerissues/escalations and adhoc projects

  • Assist in producing high quality userdocumentation from writing, editing and reviewing

Qualifications/requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of U.S. business and statutory payrollprocessing and reporting requirements;

  • Experience with processing and/or implementing U.S.payrolls;

  • Analytical skills to translate complex statutoryrequirements into clearly articulated software requirements

  • Member of American Payroll Association.

  • Functional knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM Payrollfor North America applications (including Payroll for North America and ePay)is highly desirable.

  • End to end knowledge of software developmentcycle

  • Good experience in writing Vision Documents andUser Stories

  • Ability to communicate well and work withdevelopment organization worldwide. Be able to conduct the designmeetings with extended team independently

  • Strong written and verbal English skills are amust.
