Oracle Big Data Overview
SQL relational data has been fundamental to computing within thebusiness context for the last 30 years. It has been table stakes for runningany modern business. Transactional systems have powered enterprise datamanagement, e-commerce, and were the initial engines for the Internet era.
As compute technology has expanded, internet services haveexploded and massive amounts of data have become available. Multi-structureddata from machine sensors, connected devices, click streams, system logs, etc.,all with the potential of affording the business significant value needs to becollected, processed and analyzed. However, this data does not fit well intothe relational paradigm, in part because it often requires scale-out capabilitygoing from terabytes of data to petabytes making it unsuitable for traditional datamanagement systems.
These new sources of data drove new SQL - no SQL development, newno SQL databases, and also systems such as Hadoop that have become popular overthe last three to five years. Fundamentally, enterprises really want and needto derive value out of the data for the business; often times as a combinationof traditional and new data sources Once joined, this combination can providenew insights and be mined with technologies like machine learning andartificial intelligence.

Sparkline Dataoffers**a unique to the industry technologyfor building terabyte scale data-warehouses designed to work with modern distributedcomputing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
Our strategy is built around using the best of open sourcesoftware optimized for the cloud. Our team already consists of PMC members,committers and contributors across a broad range of open source projects. Theseteam members that are key to delivering on our strategy.
The initial rollout of the product strategy will be in placecalendar year 2019 with production availability of Data Flow, Data Catalog,Data Integration and Data Science cloud services.
