On any given day, you may be called on to:
+ Focus on the operational application of systems engineering, performing functions such as developing, maintaining, and utilizing commercial\\-off\\-the\\-shelf \\(COTS\\) tools to conduct requirement and risk management, verification and validation, and logistics and deployment activities, as well as ensuring appropriate documentation is created and maintained over the full product lifecycle\\.
+ Work on issues personally or flag areas where you recognize additional technical expertise or program leadership is needed\\.
+ Verify requirements that don't require deep engineering multidisciplinary knowledge, such as dimensions, mass properties, or input and output signal voltage and timing\\.
+ Ensure that all requirements are addressed, verify that the system design satisfies all requirements, and collect evidentiary packages to document completion for the customer\\.
+ Employ a structured engineering approach that models the interactions between all components and ensures integration\\.
+ Document and track component and system\\-level performance requirements and develop acceptance criteria for the subsystems and system\\.
+ Document and track project risks and collaborates with partners to develop mitigation and contingency plans\\.
+ Evaluate competing characteristics between system elements and resolve most effective, integrated system solution\\.
+ Evaluate, test, and perform high\\-level analysis of system functionality and subsystem contribution to system function, ensuring that system performance requirements and acceptance criteria are met\\.
+ Develop logistic and deployment plans and prepare required training resources\\.
+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM discipline\\.
+ Experience in risk analysis, hazard analysis, system safety, safety engineering or other relevant safety experience\\.
+ Become proficient in the Sandia WP&C program and apply the principles to all types of operations across Sandia Laboratories\\.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite computer applications\\.
+ Demonstrated capability working in a team environment and strong interpersonal interactions\\.
+ An understanding of Work Planning and Controls \\(WP&C\\)\\.
+ Proven ability to Perform in a complex collaborative environment across all levels of staff and management\\.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills\\.
+ Active DOE/DOD security clearance\\.
The Environmental Safety & Health Planning Department contributes to the execution of the Sandia National Laboratories' mission at all levels within the processes of planning and executing work across the laboratory\\. We partner with our customers to integrate safety into management and work practices, addressing all work and hazards to ensure protection of workers, the public, and the environment\\. Provide program, technical assistance, and tools to assist customers in understanding and integrating work planning into their activities\\.

Services provided include on\\-site technical assistance, training, document reviews, audits and assessments, and support of failure modes analyses/hazard evaluations\\.
