The role assists other PMs with projects, working with clients and project teams to provide project management and vendor management to support pedagogic and collaborative AV communication goals for academic and meeting spaces. The role will also have primary responsibility for projects assigned by the Associate Director, AV & Media Services.
Primary responsibility is for the Medford/Somerville campus, with projects at other campuses as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
High school diploma plus one year of relevant experience in equivalent role.
Familiarity with Project Management for AV design and installation projects.
Ability to demonstrate full ownership and accountability for projects and to effectively manage more than 2 projects simultaneously while assisting with other projects.
Strong client consulting and customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to frequent changes.
Experience with Extron, Crestron, Cisco Videoconferencing and Biamp DSP configuration and programming. Experience with Bluecat Address Manager configuration.
Experience administering Extron GVE monitoring systems. Demonstrated experience adding new room installations to monitoring systems.
Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems and MS Office applications.
Strong understanding of IT networking and information security principles.
Driver s License as travel between campuses is expected.
Bachelor s degree
InfoComm CTS certification
Experience directly supporting end users in a higher education setting
Experience managing AV projects for higher education clients
Demonstrated advanced expertise in installing, integrating, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting at least 4 of the following technologies / solutions:
AV control systems and including integrated AV matrix switcher controllers (e.g. Extron, Crestron).
Media Players (e.g. Blu-ray, DVD)
Web, Video and Teleconferencing solutions.
PTZ cameras and control.
DSP audio mixers.
Microphones, wired and wireless systems
Live event equipment (e.g. lighting, PA, and recording equipment).
Video display technologies (e.g. projectors, screens, flat panel TVs, digital signage, document cameras).
Analog and digital media sources.
Web streaming and enterprise video content management.
AV cables and terminations (e.g. RS-232 or RJ45 connectors)
AV mounting devices (e.g. Projector mounts and TV wall mounts).
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Occasional evening or weekend work, as well as the ability to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation for major incident support activities.. An employee in this position must complete all appropriate background checks at the time of hire, promotion, or transfer.
